Web & Mobile Applications

Web and mobile app development in Australia

Apps your customers and staff actually want to use: quick to load, and built for the devices and browsers people really have.

Overview

What this is

This is application work where the front end matters: a customer-facing web app, an internal tool your team spends all day in, or a mobile app for staff in the field. The interface is part of the job, not an afterthought.

We design the screens around the tasks people do and build them to load fast on an average phone and a mid-range laptop. Testing is on real devices, not just a simulator. If a native app is not worth the cost, we will say so and build a web app that behaves like one.

Included

What’s included

Interface and interaction design

Screens and flows designed around the work, reviewed with the people who will use them before anything is built.

Web application build

A responsive web app that loads quickly on the browsers your users actually run, and holds up as traffic grows.

Mobile app build

iOS and Android apps, built cross-platform or native depending on what the app needs. We publish to the App Store and Google Play.

Accessibility and performance

Keyboard and screen-reader support and colour contrast that meets the standard. We also set a performance budget and hold the build to it.

Release and support

App store submissions handled and a monitored release process, with an agreed arrangement for fixes and updates once it is live.

Approach

How we approach it

Understand

We learn who uses the app and where: on a warehouse floor, or on a phone at home in a hurry. Those constraints shape every decision that follows.

Simplify

We cut the first release to the screens that carry the core task. A tighter app ships sooner, and real usage tells us what to add next.

Build

Senior developers build in short cycles with a running app you can open on your own phone. You review the real thing every couple of weeks, not a slideshow.

Improve

After launch we watch the crash reports and where users drop off, then fix and refine. Mobile especially needs attention as the operating systems change.

Stack

Tech we use

An honest starting point, not a fixed menu. We pick per project and tell you why.

FAQ

Common questions

Do we need a native app or will a web app do?
It depends on whether you need the camera, offline use, push notifications, or a store presence. If you do not, a well-built web app is cheaper to make and maintain and it updates instantly. We work through that with you early.
Can you build for iOS and Android at once?
Yes. For most business apps we use a cross-platform toolkit so one codebase serves both, and drop to native code only where a feature needs it. Fully separate native builds are an option when the app calls for it.
Who publishes the app to the stores?
We do, under your developer accounts, so you own the listings. We handle the submission process and the review back-and-forth with Apple and Google.
